    Hello ALL:
Does anyone know if there are DVD players on the market that can do upconverision w/o use of HDMI/DVI cable. I was hoping it was possible through componet, but not sure. My HDMI is already taken up by cable TV, since our cable (comcast) is horrid in this area, and even running through componet with monster cables, the picture still had noise in it. I also heard that if upscaling is done, the format would only be avaiable in 16X9, but I am not sure if this is true. If it is, DVD that is only avaiable in 4:3 are going to be horriably distorted. All feedback would be greatly appricated

  2. Why not exchange the cable box for one with RGB inputs and use the HDMI for your player?

The difference between the 2 are not even noticable and HDMI is for pure uncompressed signal. The Motorolla box, will give you a worse picture than you should get anyway, it will even make standard digital look muddy, soft and undefined. That's why I use the Cable Card, no wires and a straight conversion, I took the box back the first week.

BTW you can go to this sites LISTS section on the left and search DVD Players, enter the features your looking for and read about the features.
