  1. Hello,
My question to you all is can I create a menu that has interactive images (like on actual dvds), and not simple Number selection (like in most menu tutorials for CD Creator)? I have Adobe Premiere,Photoshop, After Effects, as well as CD Creator. If it were computer programming, it'd be a bit more simple...I could just have animated Gifs w/ transparent backgrounds, although I know this won't work since I'm dealing with movie files, such as .avi, and .mpeg. Any help would be much appreciated..

    THank you

  2. Firstly, read "What Is VCD" on the top left hand corner.

VCDs don't support GIFs or JPEGs or BMP or any other type of format. They ONLY support MPEG -- either, a video sequence or a still (or audio only).

Secondly, the interactivity available to a VCD is a lot more limited compared to that on a DVD. Although you can have "selection areas" defined, these really only work on CD-i players and some software players.

The buttons that can be referenced in a VCD are: NEXT, PREV, DEAFAULT, RETURN and the numerical key presses only.

However, you can have an animated background for a menu (i.e., a video clip) and if you are clever with authoring, you can translate most of the interactivity on a DVD to a VCD with good effects.

  4. If you already knew the answer is obviously "NO" then why ask in the first place?
