    Hello,

today I bought a Philips PET 705 Portable DVD-Player. Who knows how to get it regioncode free. Pity that it isn't listed here, but possibly there is a chance to hack.

Thx in advance for an answer.

    Regards Blue Jay

    Hi Blu Jay.
I'm havin some problems with this player using Home burned DVD's. Searching ariund I've found this procedure. No idea if is going to work.
The hack for the PET704/05 is really simple. I just uncovered it by trial and error:

    1) Open the tray and make sure there is no disc in the player
    2) Whilst the tray is still open, hold down the 'Menu' key on the player
    3) Press the 'Power' button and continue to hold down the 'Menu' key
    4) The Region Code menu will appear and you can set anything from 0-6 using the remote
    5) Once the region is showing what you want it to, power off and it's done!

Do you have any idea how to help me?

I got a PET1031. However, I can't get the AV IN to work.
What I tried was plug the RCA cable provided to the DVD Player's RCA Out.
The audio is working, but screen still shows a message "Please insert disc".

Anyone tried the AV Input before?

I've got help from Philips Customer Service.
PET705 reads Original DVDs only. Other DVD's format (ie DVD-R/+R/-RW VideoCDs) only if burned with a DVD recorder and it is not written on User's Manual.
I'm looking for "something" that can allow to read DVDs burned with PCs

    gs20,
I did not tried yet. I will. I suggest to go thru Philips Customer Service. At least we will know another PET705 defect "not shown" on User Manual
