I am thinking about putting it together a short movie that will be combined out of many pieces. I need to extract short scenes out of several different DVD movies and than put them together in one tralier. I am assuming that the process will be simillar to encoding a dvd, but perhaps there is a speciall program that would allow me to choose a particullar scene from a movie?

DVD Shrink in reauthpr mode, DVD Decrypter in ifo mode, virtualdubmpeg2 if you already have it ripped, videoredo, mpgvcr etc.

I think DVD Decrypter is ok, I can extract any chapter I want. What about a software with some graphics that can be added. I need something to insert beetween those short scenes to make it look good and smooth. Something what I was looking at was used in Star Wars movies to separate scenes. Does anyone know what am talking about?

It's called a transition. If you wan't to put transitions in then you need to use an editor and re-encode everything. This will get even more complicated if you have 5.1 audio.

MVW does transitions and will handle AC3 audio, re-encodes only the transition portion.
