Are any of you out ther familiar with the D-Link DSM 320RD media player? It can play video files wirelessly from a hard drive.
I have been having problems figuring out exactly what type of files and in what format they have to be in to play.
The manual says it plays MPEG layer 4 avi files. I have some avi files that windows says are "dvcodec" but avicodec says are "MS MPEG4 V2". They will not play in my media player. Any idea why? here is the file info from avi codec:
File : 695 MB (695 MB), duration: 1:37:23, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 51 %
Video : 605 MB, 869 Kbps, 29.969 fps, 480*360 (4:3), MP42 = MS MPEG4 V2, Supported
Audio : 89 MB, 128 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

I would download the Divx test cd from here: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers
and use it to confirm which formats your player supports.Google is your Friend
