I'm looking for help on an easy way to create multiple subclips of a larger video.

    Here's the situation:
I have a video of me batting over a long period of time (maybe 20-30 swings). I would like to create individual clips of every swing. I also want to get rid of parts where i'm just standing around waiting. So each subclip will vary in start time within the larger clip and in duration.
What i'd like to be able to do is to manually select the in and outs of each subclip, then hit a button(s) that will process those subclips for me into individual mpeg files.

Here's the format i'm working with:
    HD video in mpeg-2 format

I'd be willing to work with any program but I'd prefer adobe premiere if at all possible.

If there's any other information you would like, just ask.

    Thanks.

Import video into vdub , and use the mark-in , mark-out buttons to sellect the start and end of each required clip , set audio to full processing , conversion to 48khz , stereo ... check video format is hd scale ... use video / filters / resize to do this ... set video compression to xvid , save as avi .

    Process next clip .

When all part's have been generated , open clip 1 in vdub , set audio to full processing , set video compression to none , top one in list , then go to file / frameserver .

Name file , in next box , name file again and add the avi extension ... wait here

Go to vdub folder and make sure the frameserver handlers have been installed (auxsetup) ... then return to vdub and start the framserver .

Run bbmpeg_vfw and load this temp avi .

In upper right of window , enter hd scale in these to box's .

Hit start encoding ... next box hit settings , then program steams tab

Set up for dvd , then go to video stream tab , set pal option if pal , and dvd .

General settings tab , uncheck audio encode , and both muxer's in lower box , and let it rip

    ----------

Extract the audio with vdub as wav and convert to ac3 using besweet .

    ---------

Hd muxing can be done using muxman ... works well .

    ---------

If clips are continuos , then before starting the vdub frameserver , use the append feature in vdub to join all clips as a single clip ... you will end up with a single clip in sequence ... eventually in vob at hd scale .
