Hi, I'm new here.
I got some .OGM anime episodes, and I'd like to convert them so I can watch them to DVD; I'd also like to maitain intact the two audio and subtitle languages available. I saw some guides, but or they didn't explained how to convert all files at once or they embedded the subtitles in the video.
Could anyone help me?
Thanks.

Batch converting may be a little tough with your requirements. Maybe with a script. Or done in several steps. But someone else would have to give you some ideas there.
You might give ConvertXToDVD a try. It should be able to handle most of that. And it would be a lot easier to set up, at least for individual files. It does handle subs fairly well for a all-in-one.
And welcome to our forums. -
You can also try AVI2DVD, but I'd also recommend ConvertXToDVD first.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
Thank you both. I tried ConvertXtoDVD, left it working overnight, but for some reason it didn't worked: it said it was finished, but it had only recorded one episode and locked the DVD.

Hey, may be you should try to use OGMDemuxer. It's a tool created just to demuxe OGM files. Here is the link: http://corecodec.org/projects/ogmtools/
Make sure you also download the [Win32] Common Dlls.zip and put it in the same folder.
Just drag your OGM file to the icon (.exe file) and you will get all parts of documents from the OgM files, like .avi, .srt, chapters...etc. It's FREE
Then you can use any DVD burner that support multiple audios and subtitles to burn them into DVD. ConvertXtoDVD should works fine. Good luck
ps: One more thing, you must unzipped the [Win32] Common Dlls.zip and then put the .dll files in the same folder that hold the .exe file, NOT THE ZIP. And I don't think ConvertXto DVD can handle ogm files very well, although it does support ogm... don't waste you time, just stick to the method I used. -
Hey, thanks. I guess I'll try OGMDemuxer first.
What should I do when all the files are demuxed? Just throw them in CovertXtoDVD? Or I have to "tell" it there are also separate subtitles and audio tracks? -
No, you don't just THROW everything into ConvertXtoDVD! First, you must find the files you want (all parts of the document you get from Ogm file should be in the same folder that hold the ogm file,
it would be best create an new folder for each ogm file before you demuxe all the ogm files to avoid confusion with other ogm files).
Next, you must be able to reconize the files:
.avi = your main movie, usually no sound
.mp3 or .ogg...etc= audio of the movie, if the ogm got 2 audio, you should have 2 of this (you might get different format depent on the ogm files)
.srt .or .sub...etc= subtitle of the movie, if the ogm got 2 subtitles, you should have 2 of this(you might get different format depent on the ogm files)
.tag.tx = this are the tag of the movie, it tells you the languages of the audios, subtitles, and chapters in the movie. (You don't need to put these files into the ConvertXtoDVD)
Now, I hope you know where to put the right file in the right place. If you don't, just put in the movie first, then right-click on the movie and select add audio, browse to the folder holds the ogm file parts and import the audio file (repeat for 2nd audio). Then do the same for subtitle. For Chapters just use the one on ConvertXtoDVD, it work pretty good and you can adjust the time if you want.
Make sure you do it one episode at a time, don't rush or you will make mistake! You don't want to put the wrong audio or subtitle in the wrong movie. :P Ok, I hope my tutorial is not too long and pardon me for my bad englishGood Luck.

Well ogmdemuxer can batch demux. You could then batch re-encode the audio (Aften) and video (HCEnc, QuEnc, etc.) and batch author together with the subs using DVDAuthor.
-
I can't add audio in ConvertXtoDVD... I can add the subtitles ok, but the audio menu won't open. I right click but nothing happens.
-
Sorry for the confusion...
it's all my fault, I didn't check it when I write the tutorial.
Actually, you should click on the + button on the left-side of the video stream to reveal the extra menu. Then you should see the audio 0 stream ( it will indicate 0 audio stream), so all you have to do is to open the folder contain the audio files and drag the files into the audio stream.
For some reason, ConvertXtoDVD might not accepts .ogg format (it should, because it support ogm files). So if you do get .ogg format from the demuxer, then you need to convert it to either mp3 or acc/ac3 before you drop it into the audio stream. But you can try to drop the .ogg file into the audio stream for a test, because I heard that it should work...but mine never work
Ok, if you don't know how to convert .ogg to other audio format, here is some suggestion:
read others forum about it, then go to this page: https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=10#10 and download a converter tool to convert your .ogg files. River Past Video Cleaner should do the job, or you can pick freeware like BeLight and BeSweet.
ps: I'm really sorry to put you through all this troble, I hope I didn't left out anything... -
Sorry... I just remember something very important. After you inserted all the audio streams, you can click on the + button beside the audio stream to reveal another menu. Here, you can set tags for the audio streams (tells the DVD player what languages the audio stream hold). If you want to check the language of the audio, just right-click on the audio and select play audio.
By putting tags on the audio, you can switch between different audio during playback without any confusion. By the way, you can set tags for the subtitle also; function are the same. If you want to open all hidden menu for ConvertXtoDVD all at once just click the i button (round, blue color).

I have been following this thread attempting to do the same thing using the methods as detailed.
I would like to thank dude09 for all your insight!
Okay... I started out with a dual/audio OGM video file. I used OGM demuxer to create (1)AVI for video, and (2)OGG files for audio, which I converted to ACC using Besweet. ConvertXtoDVD recognized the .AVI just fine, however, I CANNOT figure out how to get the audio in.Does this software even support adding multiple audio tracks? Whenever I attempt to drag the file in, I get an error claiming that no video stream is present (???). Do I have to remix the audio and video into a single file for ConvertXtoDVD to recognize it or something?
-
Alright, as I have been working with conversions of video files and such, and often had to look things up in forums such as this, I thought that maybe this time I can be of some help.
@Lysis I get it that you want to add audio files to your video file but don't succeed in doing so using ConvertXtoDVD? Well, as far as I know ConvertXtoDVD doesn't offer that feature. But if you have an OGM file why not just let ConvertXtoDVD do all the work for you? There should be no need to demux any of it's streams first. Just put in the OGM-file and see if it works, if not here is another solution I had to come up with as my file was an MKV and ConvertXtoDVD didn't like the AAC audiostream. (alway showed a message telling me there was an error in the avcodec.dll. So I did this: I extracted the audio-streams with mkvextract.exe, used switch v 1.05 (very cool little program and it's free XD) to convert the AAC to OGG and then I used Virtualdubmod (can be obtained here http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=65889). With that program I extracted the avi-file first (direct stream copy), then I took that avi-file and added the OGG-streams (under streams->stream list) and went to full processing mode and created a new OGM file which could be converted in ConvertXtoDVD. ^^
Maybe this will be of some use to you. -
aac-->ogg isn't such a good idea unless you used flac as a compressor. Always best to avoid extra lossy steps.
-
Thank you all very much.
As dude09 predicted, the software isn't accepting .ogg, so I guess I should convert it to another format. I can't get BeLight to work, so I'd try River Past Video Cleaner. Is there any limitation on the trial version regarding audio conversion?
Thanks.
And dude09, don't be sorrythank you a lot.
-
@celtic_druid You're right but this wasn't the point here. This was about adding audio-streams to a movie.
-
I converted all the .ogg files to .mp3 using a software called FreeRIP, but I can't add them to ConvertXtoDVD. It says "File (file name and path) not added (doesn't contain a video stream)". o_O
What do I do now? /o\ -

As already stated above there obviously is no way to add audio streams in ConvertXtoDVD. You could use VirtualDubmod like I explained. If VirtualDubmod can handle your audio-streams there isn't even the necessity to convert them so there will be no quality loss. ^^ However there will be a conversion of the video-stream and I don't know how far that will result in a loss of video-quality.
So be sure to change the settings to get a big output file.
I guess that will be the best way to ensure a good result.

ConvertX won't accept elemental streams, (Separate audio and video.) so you need to mux or join them back together so you have just the single file.
I think this has already been stated, but with VD Mod, just 'Add' the converted audio back in with the video and save both in 'Direct stream copy' mode. This is very quick. If you have the old audio still showing in 'Streams', disable or delete it. This won't affect the original file if you save the new one under a different filename. -
If that is a 'typical' OGM video with Xvid or similar for a video codec and Ogg for audio, that sounds like a very long video to be that large of size. Xvid is normally a fairly high compression codec. Converting it to one DVD may result in a very poor quality DVD.
You might consider splitting it to two or more DVDs. What is the total running time of the OGM file?
And you might drop it into Gspot 2.60 and see what codecs it's using. OGM can be several formats or codecs. -
<What is the total running time of the OGM file? >
One episode(file) about 24-25 minuts. And all together 26 of 'em.
So it would be about 11 hours. -
7 hours is about the max you can fit on a DVD5. Talking VCD quality there to.
-
for my ogm movies i simply extract all files an feed them to convertxtodvd individually i havent tried it for episodes yet
