  1. Hi

I have downloaded ffmpegX because I have some .flv movies that I want to convert to .mov files to be played in Quicktime.

I follow all the specified steps and a file with .mov magically appears at the end of the process but it will not play in quicktime (or anything else). An error message appears saying "Error opening movie. The movie could not be opened."

    Is this a codec issue?
Can anyone give some guidance on the correct way to do the conversion.

    Thanks.

  2. May be your flv files are made by ON2 VP6.

you can search "flv to video vp6" with google.

ffmpeg/mencoder can handle VP6 just fine so as long as the builds in ffmpegX are reasonably recent then it should also handle flv's containing VP62 video.
