  1. When I Right click on a file/folder in windows Explorer to bring up the context menu, the menu comes up but then when I move the mouse onto it to make a selection the dialogue box appears saying "windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" Then i have the option to send an error report or not. This is becoming a problem and I need some advice. I have windows XP professional, have checked my hard drive for viruses and spyware and found none. Any suggestions anybody?

That can be tricky to fix, as there are many culprits possibly responsible.

This app will let you turn off your context menu extensions. Turn them off one at a time and see if any one might be the trouble maker:

    Its really easy to fix:

1- do not click on either send or don't send when the window pops
2- instead click on the link that says what caused this error (this could be flash player)
3- in the next window click on the link see what technical data caused the problem
4- you will see the directory where is the file causing problem
5- remove this file from your system or uninstall entire program that is associated with this file
moved to another forum, nobody likes me here...

  4. I had the same problem as you described. I had it for a couple of weeks and couldn't find a way to fix it. I tried ShellExView, but it still kept crashing when I right clicked some files. I tried Registry Mechanic, it fixed a bunch of stuff in the registry, and after that, I havn't had that problem since. I'm not sure what the problem was, but it's been working great since.
    Hope that helps.

  5. I have narrowed the problem down now. I have tried Registry mechanic and i still get the prblem. the problem is the delete option. Also this happens when u left click on a file and press the delete key so now I cannot delete files. This is troublesome. Anyone got any ideas?
