    Hi,

I hope this post is in the correct forum.

A friend returned from his Vegas honeymoon with some video recorded on his JVC cam corder. The capture was written directly to a JVC DVD-RW (60min, 2.8GB) Double Sided disc, the exact model number of the disc is VD-W28DU.

The problem is simple in that the DVD-RW does not play in his DVD player, nor in mine, nor will it play directly on my PC DVD drive (pioneer).

I managed to extract the contents using ISO Buster, however which left me with a large *.TAO file. I can now play this *.TAO file in VLC Media Player but when I try and burn the *.TAO file to a regular DVD-R or DVD+R (4.7gb) it will not work in my DVD player alone.

I find it odd how I can view the video in VLC Media Player but now anywhere else (stand alone DVD).

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can extract the video contents from this *.TAO file and get it onto DVD or in a similar fashion stream the contents of the *.TAO file to another area on my hard disk(s)?

There has to be some way to get at the contents and I have tried everything I know from ISO Buster, Ultra ISO, DVD Shrink, CD Check, VSO Convert to DVD etc.

Further more I have tried renaming the *.TAO to *.ISO which I know can be done and is allowed however this still doesn't change the fact that any program I use to extract the contents of the *.TAO & or *.ISO does not like it!

Anyones help would be greatley appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for your reply,

DVD Decrypt of DVDFab Decrypt actually do not recognize there to be any disc in my DVD drive. The only program in which did recognize contents or that was able to extract was ISO Buster.

It is bizzare to say the least...

Also a correction to my post its a SONY DVD cam not a JVC, only JVC is the media being used.

& I have tried to close the disc in the SONY DVD cam to no avail.

There has to be a way to stream the video from VLC Player to another format or destination on my workstation you would think?
