Hi everyone!
I have just purchase ADS VideoXpress & am hoping that someone can help me with some capture problems that I am having with it. I can capture from DVD, no problem but it doesn't even register VHS from my VCR. As this is the reason why I bought the thing it's leaving me very frustrated!! My VCR doesn't have the composite red/white/yellow. It has 2 scart sockets. So, I've used a scart/composite adaptor to connect the r/w/y to the VideoXpress box. Any advice / help will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Sure you got the right adapter (scart to composite, not composite to scart?) There are some adapters with a in/out switch - is it on out?

Hiya!
No switch on the adaptor. It's what I use with my TV. I connect the composits into it and the scart side of it goes into the TV so I guessed that it should do the same with VideoXpress. Anymore ideas? Maybe VideoXpress is faulty.
THanks for the reply. -
I had an ADS product for a couple of months, and finally gave up and dumped the thing, as I had NOTHING but troubles with it. I replaced it with a Canopus ADVC-55 and have not had any of the sort of problems I had with the ADS.

Do you honestly think your DVDXpress has its own agenda?
Barnabas has given you great piece of "advice" so far: dump it as he did. I suggest you read carefully what mats.hogberg wrote and determine where a mistake was made. How can your DVDXpress be faulty and at the same time work with your DVD "no problem"? Check your connections, this is where you have messed up, either your SCART adapter is dead/wrong or you are connecting to wrong pins. Test if you get video signal from a particular terminal before you jump to conclusions.
Pardon my tone but all you need to do is pay attention to what's being said. -
Dear InXess.
The idea of this forum is to help one another with video related problems (I think that the name of the website gives that away). There is no need to be rude. So, here's some advice from me to you, my dear InXess; go listen to Celine Dion, eat less and accept that YOU are inferior to all Americans, you fat Canadian.
Au revoir!

@InXess - Uncalled for. No need to be uncivilized.
@VHS - Your last remark directly violates site rules - edit it, or get a formal warning.
...and any flame follow-up from either of you will get carded.
