Use real alternative together with Media Player Classic...if you are playing real media files.

The only way to get rid of the popup window short of uninstalling is to change your startup programs. For Windows 2000, there is a freeware program called startup (I believe). Someone can tell you how to do it for Windows XP. Everytime I use the Real Player, I have to change the settings, because the Real player reinserts back in the startup every time it is used. You can also go into Windows Task Manager Process tab, and turn it off after using the Real player, but you have to turn it off every time you restart your computer. Real Player is a real pain. I am going to try and use Real Alternative, and see how well it works.

Did you download the movie? It could have been the cause of the virus. If you got Real Player from a site other than the real Real Player site, it too could have been the cause of the virus. Always use an AntiVirus program to check all downloads. I use AVG, which checks items while being downloaded. An AntiVirus program will not always help with spyware installed by programs.
