Hi My Sony TRV 460 Digi 8 handycam has only S-Video port and a DC input port!
How on earth do I connect a IEEE 1394 to my camcorder? I don't want to use the memory card as I read that the quality and sound are compromised!
One Ebay seller says I can do this through my S-Video port with an adaptor? maybe I should call Sony!?
My computer / HP Media Center has Firewire so all i need is the knowledge to connect cam!
Thank you / m

You would have to get either a capture card or external analogue (s-video) to DV converter. Something like this

Take a better look then?
CamcorderInfo: Sony DCR-TRV460 Camcorder Review
There's not much to the right side of the TRV460. At the very far front there is a port cover that shares space with the front, sort of. The cover is the same color as the rest of the body (gray) and is easy to open and close. The DV in/out, USB, and an RCA composite video in / out jack are well hidden under this port cover. -
Wow! I have spent a few goodly hours looking!? SO WELL HIDDEN!! and so easily discovered!
Thank you Thank you!
