  1. I have a 700 mb xvid movie file that plays on my computer but not my phillips 642.The picture is fine but the sound is garbled and a lot of static. The file shows the audio as lame mp3 48000 hz 135 kbps vbr.I think the vbr or the 135 kbps might be the problem so I converted to 128 kbps and cbr but the same problem.I then tried converting audio to wav and used virtual dub mod with same results. Then tried convert x to make a dvd with still the same problem. When I load in virtual dub it gives me the improper vbr audio encoding warning.I also noticed a few more files with this same problem. The kbps are where I see a difference. Some have odd numbers like 119 or like the 135 here that I am writing about.Any ideas?

  2. Anothr thing. One of the movie files the sound is fine for the first minute then the sound just drops. If I turn volume all the way up I can only hear a whisper. As a matter of fact I was wrong about the sound being garbled it is just very low and can not hear even if volume turned all the way up.
