    Hi,
I've been experimenting with x264 in MeGUI and in rare instances have A/V Sync issues with certain DVD's so since I know Nero Recode to be very dependable in these cases I've been trying some of these problem discs using Nero AVC and although the files are turning out great, and playback perfectly on my iPod (even without the iPod template) they are far larger than the x264 files at the same bitrate setting. For instance the average size of of 90 min. movie with x264 is about 550-560 Mb, the same movie fron Nero AVC at the same bitrate (700kbps) ends up being 1.5Gb and incidentally a bitrate of AVC that high should NOT be playable at all on an iPod!! When I look up the info on these AVC files in iTunes using "Get Info" they display the audio bitrate only and the Average Bitrate displays as "0". So although I can't complain about the quality or functionality of these files, they are about 3 times larger than they should be!?!
    Anyone else notice this??

    C'mon,
Somebody else has had to have noticed this, I backed up "RV" last night using the iPod AVC preset @ 700kbps and ended up with a 2.69GB file!!! AVC Recoders where are you??

  3. Here's the filter which should fix the Nero 7.5.1.1 AVC 2-pass oversize: http://morbo.org/nero/NeNDVid_2_6_28_1.zip

Extract the NeNDVid.ax to "\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter" in order to replace the old one.

    Found this over at Doom9.net.

    dav88,
Thanks very much, Nero is pretty quick and easy especially for DVD's it'd be a shame not to use it. Thanks again!!
