burning a movie with subtitles?

i have subtitle in .srt format and need to burn a movie with the subtitles with idvd or toast eather one is fine. when i burn it i need the subtitles to play on the movie on the dvdplayer. so like i think i need to do is add them to the movie then burn it how do i add them? but do witch eather is better burning with it or adding it then burning them?
