    Uhoh!

    After many months of happy work my SVCD2DVD is crashing:

    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
    application or machine (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
    rather than being handled by this dialog.
    Have just uninstalled and reinstalled with the latest stable version of the registered version.

    Any ideas?

    Andy

  2. Error may be more related top your .NET framework. Try un/re-installing latest version of it?

    When is this happening? When you preview a title or when you start the program?

    When I launch the application, it gives me quit or continue... I have just clicked continue and it seems OK???

    Can't get into the config menu though (get the same error), but everything else works?

    Have just created a DVD to check it and it does seem to work.

    Weird!

    Still get the error on startup and trying to get into the options...

    It is to do with the preview window. Something has changed on your system (in regards your codecs). When the program starts it plays the splash.mpg file.... it is this that is causing the problem. If you try to play the file in WMP you will have the same issue. Can you confirm?

    You are correct!

    My WMP seems incapable of playing that file type... only Quicktime will play it.

    How weird!

    Any suggestions on how to fix it?

    Which particular codec is that using?

    Well you could install http://www.xpcodecpack.com/

    but you probably only need : https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=GPL_MPEG-1_2_Decoder

    Remember that after you install new codecs you will need to reboot for Windows/WMP to use them.

    Well, I've tried:

    1) Those codec packs
    2) Other codec packs
    3) Upgrading to WMP10
    4) Reinstalling directx

    Using Sherlock to look at my video codecs the MPEG one is quartz.dll which is part of DirectX

    I wish I knew wtf was wrong with this

  11. I have the same probelm. My investigations lead me to suspect the install of Cyberlink PowerDVD. I suspect its also scuppering my ability to import MP3s into Windows Movie Maker 2.

    This thread seems related:
    https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=307655&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&hig...%20mpeg%20play

    I'm trying a few things to see if I can resolve this and I'll post my findings here.

    Yeah its really starting to get me annoyed now!

    I've also checked and replaced a copy of quartz.dll manually (from a friends PC).

    I think my trouble started when I installed a very old game called "Starship Titanic" and it had some cranky old shit mpeg video software with it

    ok you have the GPL MPEG-1/2 Decoder codec installed. Now try upping the merit for it using DirectShow Filter Manager:

    Then reboot.

    And it still won't play in WMP? Have you got another MPEG1 or MPEG2 file you can try in WMP?
