As I was searching the Philips support sites for DVD player firmware, I noticed models such as the YDV550, YDVC6760, YDVS5750, Etc. I have always known that when doing side-by-side comparisons of certain Philips and Yamaha models, it is obvious that Yamaha uses Philips circuitry. Has anyone ever delt with Yamaha's home consumer support? If your question is very technical in nature, do you find it hard to get an answer? If so, could it maybe be because Yamaha tells Philips what they want and Yamaha is basicly distributing a Philips product? Would we actually be better off contacting Philips consumer support when it comes to certain Yamaha DVD players? I thought this might be an interesting can of worms to open--LOL.
