  1. Greetings...I am using my Asus AGP v7700 GTS GeForce2 video card as my capture device and when I capture at 740x480, the edges of moving objects look all jagged. When I capture at 352x480, the image looks better.

    Is the a certain resolution (i.e. 352x240) what I should be specifying in my capture software for capturing analog video from my analog camcorder? Is there a "default" resolution for analog video as it is recorded on analog tape?

    The reason why things are wobbly is that video which has been generated from your video player has varying pixel clock frequency. You need a TBC Time base corrector to stabilise your pixel clock. Some JVC VCRs have a built in TBC. Most brooktree Chips Fusion878A can use Ultralock to provide a similar function.
