    The panasonic firmware site has an update for the ES20P. I have and ES20S. I tried to update with the firmware I downloaded but the unit just sits there on "Read". I tried buring the file on several different kinds of CD-R discs and the result was the same each time. Is the P for a PAL unit perhaps? The panasonic site is a little light on details.

    If the ES20 is a US model, and you got the file from here: http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/vDownloads?storeId=15001&langId=-1...ge=DVDFirmware

    Do not worry about the "P", that is the firmware to use.

    Remember to burn the CD in plain ISO-9660 level 1, no Juliet, multi-session or anything else.
