Ok, so when i first found out about the whole extra file with all my Asian horror movie AVIs I was amazed that that one file contained all the subtitles for the entire movie. I thought it was so cool how you can just put that one file, with the exact same name, into the same folder as the AVI and it will show subtitles in the language you need. Its so easy!!! So then I started Burning them all to DVDs, so now I have Movies on Discs that also have Subs. Everything was going great untill a couple days ago when the Subtitles stopped showing up on my computer. No matter what I do and nomatter what movie they just dont show. When I burn a movie they show up and everything is fine.

But my problem is sometimes the sub file isnt the right one for that Specific AVI, so my whole way of testing to make sure the subs match the movie is gone.

Just to make this clear, my problem is, as of about 5 days ago, out of no where...when I play an AVI file on my comp with the corisponding subtitle file, the subs dont show up anymore.

Has this happened to any one else before?? Did I change some setting when I started burning movies? How can I bring them back?? SOmeone please help...
    Thanks

What are you using to play them in the computer? I've found VLC Media Player to be one of the most versatile players for subs.

If you are using other players, you may need a program like VSFilter / DirectVobSub or VobSub to access the subs.

The thing is that WIndows Media player was playing them just fine, and then stopped. I just got VLC cause of my other post and it works great. I guess Meda Player just decided it didnt want to do subs anymore. Weird...

Windows media Player doesn't play subs on it's own. You must have had one of the assisting programs listed by redwudz for WMP to display the subs.
