I have been using my ATI-9600 All-In-Wonder '06 card to capture analog video from Hi-8 source using Pinnacle 10.6 NLE. No problems really, pretty good quality considering. However, when I use Pinnacle to capture the same and then import the resulting file into Adobe Premiere 2.0, for editing the finished product is really bad. Fields seem to be reversed ect. The compression is MJPEG for the file. Is Adobe just fussy with what it gets or......
Thanks in advance.

Appears you are using AVI capture? I would recommend a lossless compression codec such as Huffy or one of the others. MJPEG introduces lossy compression, meaning some of the quality is already gone. If you can capture lossLESS without dropping frames, this would be optimum.
Various editors have different problems with different codecs. Make certain the editor is not changing any of the parameters of the video, you only want to encode ONCE.
If you are just cutting and pasting, recommend VDUB as hard to beat for simple functions. -
My setting for the ATI card are "ATI VCR 46.74 MB min." I reset my setting in Pinnacle to AVI/custom/DV. The results worked well. Much better quality. I did try the Huffy setting on my ATI card, but when I would go to capture it would force my computer into restart!
