  1. whats the best program to join .mpg movies

    Best is not to join mpg. Else, I use Womble MPEG VCR. I suspect VideoReDo is good too.

  3. you say best not to join .mpg so what do you do as I had thought about converting to vobs then join them up as I have several short pop concerts i want as a whole dvd

    Encode seperately, author together

    Should be a motto of some sort, it's just so catchy.

    Any authoring tool will allow you to author these so they play consecutively, if that is what you want. TDA can even do it so that it is, for all intents and purposes, seamless.

    Let the authoring app take care of that part.
    If you have one title made up of several mpg files, just add them to the same track (in TDA) and remove the chapter points TDA inserts at the join, and they will play back as one continous video.
    If each concert is one mpg, I'd make each a separate title, but that's me.

    Then the source mpg isn't DVD compatible, and may have to be reencoded (or at least remultiplexed) to work as DVD source.

    Search for the error message ("A video sequence header is"...), and I'm sure you'll get lots of hits.
