  1. Hey guys, I've been searching and trying things all day to play my .ogm file. I've downloaded and tried VLC and TCMP and both don't play the .ogm file. The picture looks frozen and in pieces.

I downloaded CCCP and that just made my comp so slow and did nothing when I played the files, just got a black screen. Downloaded MKV and nothing....

what am I doing wrong besides downloading a bunch of stuff that isn't working?? What will work??

VLC contains an ogm parser, vorbis decoder and various video decoders so it should be able to playback most ogm's fine. Sounds like the file is corrupt.

Is VLC able to provide any information about the OGM? (I'd also suggest MediaInfo or another utility, but I don't know if any of them handle OGMs.)

I would suggest you to download K-Lite Codec Pack instead. It also come with a Media Player Classic which can play almost all media included OGM, FLV, and MKV.

    Here is the link:

ps: If you want to decode and encode your media files, I would suggest you download the full or mega pack. It update pretty often, so you might want to update yours once a while...

I wouldn't suggest a codec pack. Just use one of the information utilities in VideoHelp's Tools section to find out what codecs the video uses, and only install those particular codecs.
