I have 16x dvd-r discs that won't work on my 8x DVD Drive because my firmware isn't updated. I don't know how to upgrade my firmware, can someone help me?

Well, if you'd let us in on what kind of DVD drive you own, maybe someone can help...

1.Go to www.rpc1.org and download latest FW.
2.Make sure there's no disc in the drive and install.
3.Reboot and enjoy.
If it still won't work then search for some 8x media or buy a new writer. -
be careful!
some (definitely NOT all) DVD drives require particular configurations for updating the firmware -- specificially, certain DVD drives must be installed as the MASTER device on the 2ndary IDE channel with no slave device for firmware update.
