Hi, I would like to know how can I get a Google Video file onto a DVD that is playable on most players?

    Can ffmpegX convert these files?

Also have trouble d/loading ffmpegX. I get to 30.6 MB then it says "Error. Connection Reset By Peer".

    Thanks if you can help!

  2. Try to downlod with Firefox. As per Google Video, I was able to encode one .gvi file retrieved with Google Video Player by using "DivX ffmpeg" preset.

    Thanks major!

I finally managed to d/load using Firefox. Converting into an AVI now. And then I'll be able to convert AVI to MPEG2 hopefully?

You can also download directly to AVI. Have a look at Keepvid or google for "google video download"

The DVD mpeg2enc preset worked if I unticked "Decode With Quicktime", however the resultant file seems to playback at double speed. The video was originally about 56 mins long and the resultant file was 27 mins long.

I think I'll just download a DVD rip to save myself the trouble. I wanted to make a DVD of 9/11 Revisited and Loose Change SE.

  6. Better keep ticked that "Decode with Quicktime" option in case of framerate problems, but also make sure first that your Quicktime Player can play the AVI files (install www.divx.com codecs for Mac for that).
