  1. I was trying to burn some things onto a single layer DVD-R at my bro-in-law's house but the discs were showing as dual layer DVD-Rs. I was able to burn a few open session discs, but got some coasters as well. Using my SL DVD burner at home, I'm unable to read some of the discs and cannot close them. I get an error stating that I cannot close using DAO but cannot change it to any other option. Do I have to throw the DVDs away or is there some way to close and/or recover the data on them? I'm going to his house today to see if his dual layer DVD burner will read and even close the sessions on all the discs. Not sure why his burner misread the discs as DL...

    Thanks in advance,

Let me guess, you forgot to write down the maker and model numbers?

Sounds like there is a problem with your brothers burner, especiallyl if it is not correctly recognizing the discs you are using. If you can read the discs in your drive, I would copy the data off and burn them yourself.

I also wouldn't burn any more discs on his pc until the issue is resolved.

  4. kschang - No, I didn't write down the model number. The burner came with the Dell PC and I'm apparently not as smart as you. But then you already knew that, right? /sarcasm

Krispy Kritter - I cannot get the files off the disc, which is why I thought closing the session would work. I'll just have to try putting the files onto my iPod hard drive.

    Thanks anyway
