Hey all and thanks in advance for any help. I have premiere pro 1.5 and am using it to capture, from minidv, encode using the mainconcept built in encoder to DVD. The video was originally a 45 minute VHS tape. The color is sucky.

I tried googling all day but no answers, and I tried to use the gagillion plug-ins that pro 1.5 comes with, but it is really complicated. I know that in time I will learn them, but this isn't something major I'm working on, I just want to burn it and move on. Any idea which plug-in would just add more color in general, even if there is one? I tried so many adjustments, but it never worked right. Feel free to be specific as I can be a little slooooooow.

    Thanks again

I find it hard to believe that Premiere doesn't at the very least have something like Photoshop's curves and saturation adjustments, let alone some form of colour correction. The manual is the best place to start, using terms like color, saturation, correction etc.

Otherwise, consider other tools. There is a pretty cool plugin for virtualdub called Colormill that does a lot of colour type adjustments, as well as many others. All free.

  3. Look for an HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) filter and bump up the Saturation.
