Hi,
I've tried to open my (VobBlank'd) source files in DVD Rebuilder which posts an error - Illegal Source. Missing VTS_1. Aborting.
I DO have all the relevant files (VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_0.VOB, VTS_02_0.BUP, VTS_02_0.IFO ,VTS_02_0.VOB ........ VTS_06_0.BUP, VTS_06_0.IFO, VTS_06_0.VOB) so I tried running FixVTS but that didn't sort it.
When I open the files in PgcEdit, the error posted seems to explain a bit more about the problem, and suggests a solution (using IFOedit) but I've no idea what it means !
PLEASE can someone help me understand what I need to do in IFOedit ?
Thanks.

Hi-
It's saying to open an IFO (any IFO) in IFOEdit and doing a Get VTS Sectors on it. If FixVTS didn't help, then I'm not sure Get VTS Sectors is going to help either. When I've had problem DVDs like that, sometimes doing a Mock Strip cleans them up again:

I've no idea how you knew it meant that, but I'll take your word for it !
I did the "Check VTS sectors" and whilst it did modify the IFO files, it did not solve the problem.
I'll have a go at the "Mock Strip"..... [watch this space]
Thanks for your help. -
ok, I'm guessing I need to do the "Mock Stripping Menu's" not "Mock Stripping Titlesets" ?
That doesn't produce an error !
Is this correct ?
Also, I don't know if this helps but VobBlanker says :
After running the full scan, it reports :
Any ideas ? -
Hi-
Not really enough information here. You opened the complete, original DVD in VobBlanker with no problems, right? What happens when you open the original DVD in DVD-Rebuilder? It gets accepted, right? So, for some reason, after removing the stuff you don't want using VobBlanker, DVD-Rebuilder no longer accepts it. Is that right? And nothing you've done so far fixes it, right?
What did you remove with VobBlanker? And how did you do it? I'm assuming you processed only the VTS's from which you removed stuff. You may also have replaced what you processed incorrectly. That is, replace everything that's in the new folder, and not just the VOBs. Stick back the new IFOs, BUPs, and VOBs. Then run a Get VTS Sectors in IFOEdit. That's how I do it with no problems.
My suggestion is to start again with the complete untouched DVD. Test it to see if it opens OK in PGCDemux and also in DVD-Rebuilder. Then open it in VobBlanker, remove what you don't want, and Process everything, even the stuff you're not touching. That is, don't "Skip" anything. So what if it takes a few extra minutes? That way there's no chance of user error. -
Hi....
Thanks for your patience....
Sadly, it appears that my original (copied) files are "corrupt"...
It must've happened when I ripped it (using RipIt4Me, in Movie+Menu's mode) a while back (hence the old version of RipIt4Me)
Here's what my log file says :
I 20:17:40: RipIt4Me Version 1.4.10.0
I 20:17:40: Starting Wizard at 20:17:40
I 20:17:40: Ripping mode: Movie+Menus
I 20:17:40: RemoveProtectedCells on
I 20:17:40: RemoveTinyCells = on
I 20:17:40: RemoveUselessMenuCells = on
I 20:17:40: RemoveLastVTS = on
I 20:17:40:
I 20:17:40: Wizard Step 2: PSL file creation
I 20:17:42: Opening IFOs -- Waiting for drive to be ready
I 20:17:42: DVD Volume Label: UNDERWORLD_EVOLUTION
I 20:17:42: Loading IFOs
I 20:17:42: Region code: 2
I 20:17:43: Done opening IFOs
I 20:17:43: Retrieving sectors from DVD drive
I 20:17:43: CRC32 value = 0xFCDC5052
I 20:17:43: Creating Protected Sector List (PSL) file
I 20:17:43: Done creating PSL file
I 20:17:43:
I 20:17:43: Wizard Step 3: Ripping DVD
I 20:17:48: Starting DVD Decrypter
I 20:17:48: Finding main movie
I 20:17:48: Main title(s):
I 20:17:48: VTS 2 PGCs 1 - 1:42:00s -- 16:9
I 20:17:48: Waiting for Decrypter to be ready
I 20:17:50: Done importing the PSL file, now starting ripping...
I guess my best (only) option now would be to make a DVD without menu's from the files I have.
Cheers. -
Hehe. I don't understand what you needed VobBlanker for if all you got was the movie and menus to begin with. I don't know. Maybe you were cutting parts off the movie.
Anyway, if only the menu is bad, you can demux the movie using PGCDemux, and save the menus as BMP using DGIndex or VobBlanker, among many other ways, and then use those menu pics to create a new menu when authoring. There many authoring apps, freeware and commercial that'll do the job, but I usually use DVDAuthorGUI (free) for that kind of thing. If you have TDA, I believe it'll even take vob input, but most authoring apps want elementary streams (demuxed). Good luck. -
There were still a couple of things that needed removing from the "movie+menus", but forum rules prevent me from saying what !
I'll have a go at recreating the menus as per your instructions.
The only thing I'm "nervous" about is creating the 'scene selection' menu's ? Is this tricky ? I assume the official scene breaks are as per the image below from VobBlanker? Is it easy to make my scene selections the same as these ?
Thanks again.

Hi-
Yes, it'll be fairly simple to get the chapters at those same places. The only thing is that different authoring apps use different formats for the chapters, variously different time formats, or different frame number formats. So, you'll have to get them in the correct format. Some take them in that exact form you showed in the pic, hh:mms:ms. ChapterXtractor can get them for you very quickly in a variety of formats, as can DVD Decrypter when decrypting (Tools->Settings->IFO Mode->check the ones you want).

All done...
ChapterXtractor, VOB2MPG, ReJig (to demux), Media Player Classic (screen capture for menu BMP's), GUI for dvdauthor....
Thanks
