Sorry for this noob of noob questions but I have read over a few things and stull can't find the right software/dont know how to edit DVD's once backed up on the hard drive.

I have got the .vob files which are split up in to about 10 files with 3 files being about a gig each (which is the problem), hence the need for a program to split them.

    Tools I have:
    - Blaze Media Pro
    - Windows Movie Maker
    - Movica
    - DVD Decrypter

I've got the DVD backed up already on the hard drive using Nero/DVD schrink.
If someone would please give me a quick step by step guide that I could easily follow it would be very much appreciated. I just need to convert the .vob so I can edit it in Windows Movie Maker or some other easy application, thanks.

Generally, VOB or MPG (which is the main ingredient in a VOB) doesn't lend itself very well to editing. It's an end product, after all edits have been done.
To get something that at least can be edited, run the vobs thru vob2mpg, to get them at least in mpg format.
VideoReDo or Womble mpeg VCR are good mpg editors.
