I was wondering if there is any way to update ffmpegX to use the newest VC-1/WM9 beta decoders. While I know that they are not distributed in binary form, but if I compile the binary myself will ffmpegX recognize the decoder?
While I usually don't play with beta software as such, I have noticed that VLC has a decent implementation of the new decoder and would prefer not to have to transcode it with ffmpeg in VLC (as VLC transcoding has never been the best) and then encode it with ffmpeg.

any news here? im not berdy enough to compile this stuff myself. but im very suprised that no one has added wmv9 support after Summer of code created a solution. without support for vc-1 ffmpegx is pretty much useless (to me anyways). i guess i could switch to windows ...
