The only video that I have successfully converted to the iPod h.264 format was a realplayer file. All of my .avis wind up as .mp4s, and play fine in itunes, but get the error saying that the ipod cannot play them when I try to transfer them over. I do not understand why the converted to mp4 realplayer file worked fine and the converted .avis do not, any help is appreciated.

Sorry for any grammar or spelling messups, I'm a bit sleepy.

I've had some problems playing files I encoded using the h.264 video codec on my iPod. When I encoded the same files using the MPEG4 m4v codec, it worked. I think the "iPod for TV" setting should work too.

I know this is stange, becouse the h.264 codec should work fine, but my advice is to try the mp4 or "iPod for TV".
