I've used TMPGEnc for a few years to convert AVI files to MPEG so I can burn them as VCDS. Recently, I've noticed that more and more files won't convert properly and I'm hoping someone can help me.

I use the project wizard in TMPGEnc to create a PAL VCD. When I select the video file (AVI file encoded with xvid codec) there is no audio file automatically included.
I use the decompresser from the avi2dvd program to extract the audio from the original file and put that in as the audio file in the TMPGEnc wizard. I then start the encoding.

The encoding process is really fast, much quicker than normal however, when I go to watch the file, there is audio but no video.

I thought it may be because I have an old version of the xvid codec but I installed the latest version and it made no difference.

I thought a different program might be the key but have tried two different ones (following instructions from guides on the site) and have had problems with both.

Has anyone seen this error before and would you be able to help?
