The question is the ths subject line. How do I contact say, 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., etc. to apply for permission? Is there a convenient list of URLs somewhere?

Thanks. Any idea how the long the turn around time is on a simple request, say, to use a 1 minute Hollywood movie clip in a one time only showing?

If it is a recent movie be prepared to beg/negotiate. If you have the big bucks, you can get most anything. If you want a discount you need to convince them it is in their interest.

Try to match your needs to their press promo clips and it should be no problem. Those are pre-cleared. Older movies may be easier unless they are highly popular or Disney. Disney is another level or three in complexity.

I've only done this for tradeshow/tech conference presentation. One method that has worked is to appeal to the post house that did the clip in question and convince them to ask in your behalf. They have influence but will only make the effort if they see promotion potential for themselves.
