  1. Ok, info is as follows, not a newbie, know how to use TMpgEnc software, can convert DiVX to vcd no problem. The query i have is that some files i have are encoded in MPEG-4, Microsoft's version of DiVX as I understand. When trying to open with tmpgenc it says unsupported file type. The AVI file plays fine under media player 7 with the mpeg4 codec from MS. Under the properties (right click avi file) preview though it will not display. If this is because i do not have that codec, is this why tmpgenc will not recognise it, and where can I get it, if that is the case, or will tmpgenc just not support mpeg-4? If so, is there software that will convert it.
Many thanks if somebody can help.

    sNoWy1998,
    Maybe, I can help you!
Well, if you say you play your Mpeg-4 files on Media Player 7. So, you have the correspondent decoder in your system, right?
What you must do is to inform TMPEGenc about this. How?
Go to TMPEGenc "Option" => "Environmental setting" => "VFAPI Plug-in". You'll see the encoders that TMPEGenc recognises in your PC system. Next, set Mpeg-4 decoder to the highest priority and try "Preview" again.
I hope help you. If not, please come back us.
