The VOB file is 550MB, yet I end up with a file 38MB when trying to author a DVD with TMPEnc DVD Author. The output file is really nothing more than the created menu and a small portion of the VOB. Suggestions?

how did you make the vob? downloaded? ripped? try fix it with it for example Videoredo first (quickstream fix) or demultiplex it(split audio and video) with pvastrumento and import the video and audio files in tmpgenc.

Go to chapter edit, and slide thru the entire VOB file's video. That is to confirm the VOB file is intact and not broken.

No loss, no encoding, no conversion - just repackaging the video and audio back to a format more suitable as source material for creating a video DVD.

I tried Power Producer, it accepted the vob, but more than doubled its size. During playback the Power Producer created dvd pauses in spots, like dvds created on some Panny dvd recorders. I guess I may need to repair this dvd or maybe re-install TDA. -
