I wasn't sure if this topic would go here, but it said everything else and related to your computer. But is there a way to reset your audio and video codecs. I feel like I can't watch things on my computer correctly. Thanks!

    In what way ?

You can use something like Codec Sniper to look for broken codecs or to remove codecs you don't need, then reinstall the ones you want.

Well basically this is what happened. I have Hauppauge WIN TV USB PRV 250 on my computer. I wanted to watch some Naruto Anime and Gspot said I needed Xvid (a new computer I am using). I installed Xvid, DivX, and FFDshow and my anime still did not work. I tried a K-lite codec pack, that did not work either. I uninstalled the K-lite codec pack. THen I downloaded VLC media player and that could play one of my animes, but not the others. Then I uninstalled Xvid, divX and ffdshow thinking my computer would return to its original state but it did not. I cannot watch my anime, or listen to the sound on Youtube.com, google video, and other streaming video sites. I do have the proper flash plug-in installed. I used to be able to watch and listen to youtube but for some reason I cannot. So I figured if I could somehow reset my codecs and start over, or set my codecs properly, I'd be in better shape than I am now.

Oh and when I could not watch my Naruto, it was because there were pink and green lines in my anime. Also, when I try to watch miniDV videos convertered through my Hauppuage card to .MPG on VLC media player, I get green and pink lines. But on my WMP it looks ok. It is just because on certain miniDV videos, I cannot fast forward through the video by point clicking to the part I want to watch. Any advice? Thanks!

Codec packs register services in your registry and when you remove the pack it doesn't re-write the reg key.

Firstly uninstall all codecs and codec packs, restart the pc and delete the
C:\program_files\k-lite folder.. Also Delete the divx folders and the like.

Re-install divX Xvid and FFDhow and to play your anime
    You WILL need http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Haali_Matroska_Splitter.htm

AS for your web based problems, this is because the codec pack de-registed the players for the files.. to fix this you will need to reload Quicktime.. (re-registers the plugin)
Same Goes for flash, Uninstall your shockwave plugin ckick here or just reinstall it aswell to re-register the plugin

    Hope this helps

    Added Note:
The lines you see are probably interlacing, Anime is always interlaced becuse movement looks a heap better that way. Your WMP is most likely running an interlace filter which is why it looks normal to you.

Find a setting on VLC that will enable de-interlacing or just de-interlace the video files on your pc when you import them .. look for bob or blending in the capture/ playback settings

Thanks for the help! I deleted the appropriate folders and reinstalled Xvid and DivX. Everything worked EXCEPT the google video, youtube sites. For some reason Quicktime was the one site I could view audio and video from. So I did not reinstall quicktime since I can watch it and listen to it, but I did uninstall the flash player from the link drewzor provided and reinstalled it and still no sound on google video or youtube. Any other advice to try to get it to work?
