    say i have an audio clip to go with a video and i want it to make it sound like it is the classic undistinguishable voice used in movies when someone is being randsomed or whatever...... does anyone know how i can do this?

    You could drop it into the freeware audio editor Audacity. Maybe filter out the highs and lows, then shift the pitch down a little. Make it sound like a bad telephone connection. Audacity has lots of filters and you can play around to get what you want. Audacity accepts PCM, MP3 and Ogg audio.

    Ahhh the I know what you did last summer voice...
    you need to change the pitch while maintaining the tempo, goldwave can to this.
