  1. I bought an external harddrive (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2460773&CatId=0) and it has a place for SATA and USB 1.1 & 2.0. I want to use SATA, but I can't find where to plug it in on my computer. I have an eMachines T1440 (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-detailsInactive.asp?Sku=e400-t1440%20p).

Could anyone help me out here? Thanks.

Your PC does not have an external SATA connection. From the link you provided, it looks like your PC (motherboard) does not have any SATA ports.

This leaves you with two options:

    1. Buy a PCI SATA card, which also has external SATA connectivity

    2. Use the USB connection instead.

Your will need an external SATA port for your machine, something like this one: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=1016-0019-000A&cat=CCD

This card has an older Silicon Image SATA external port. It will work at up to 150MB/sec, but this will be more than enough to drive your disk. As a plus you will get a gigabit Ethernet port.

I will get this card for the PC my brothers PC.
