    Hi,

I need to convert 280MB MPEG files to a format that meets MySpace's under 100MB requirement. I tried MP4s, but had A/V synch problems. Is there a format (eg. wmv) that would reduce my files in a way that would help ensure that MySpace converts them to Flash in a way that works best? I read somewhere that they have problems converting files with high bit rates. I have to condense about 130 files, so if anyone is aware of a freeware batch converter that would do the job, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    George

    Hi,

Thanks. I encoded a 275MB MPEG file with Super Encoder setting the bit rate to 64 and the audio to mono, but the output MPEG video still came out at 180MB (too large for MySpace).

Is there a different video format I can convert to that will be easy for MySpace to convert to Flash, and be only 90 to 100MB?

The bitrate and video runtime decide the output file size, it doesn't matter what video codec you use. But MPEG4 divx, xvid or h264 are better if you want to use low bitrates = small file size.

So be sure to use a low video and audio bitrate in super also. You can use a bitrate calculator to calculate exact the output file size, www.videohelp.com/calc
