    Hi everyone,

I have become a fan of project called RiffTrax that releases "commentary mp3's" that are comedic dissing of popular movies. As is, the project works by downloading the commentary, then playing the file on some sort of mp3 player or computer while you watch the commercial DVD that you already own.

To simplify life, I would like to reauthor the main movie and add this commentary laid over the audio of the main movie (I would like the commentary and dvd audio playing at same time) so I don't have to futz with playing my mp3 with the movie and headaches with pausing, etc.

It seems as if there is a number of ways to go at this, but I was looking for any recommendations. Is it easier to do this step in a DVD authoring program or completely edit the file in a video editing program and export as an mpeg and bring that into the DVD authoring program?

Thanks for any help in advance!

    Cheers,
    Tom

Encode the audio as AC3 using ffmpeggui, then look at IFOEdit's page in the Tools section for guides on adding extra audio tracks. PGCEdit might also be able to do this.

If you don't care about menus etc then it is probably easier to demux and re-author in something that supports multiple audio tracks.

  3. muxman is your way to go. Its a free app the will multiplex elementary streams (ex .m2v, ac3) into a working dvd folder that you can burn.
