    srt2sup, then author with IfoEdit
But if srt2sup supports Hebrew characters I don't know.

  3. i managed to convert to sup file using subtitle creator however ifoedit did not work for me. i also managed to de-multiplex the files to m2v and ac3 (and wave just in case... so now i might have more options to insert the subtitles? what else to try?

m2v + ac3 + sup is exactly what apps like Muxman or Ifoedit wants.
    DVDAuthorGUI should do m2v + ac3 + srt too.

  5. i did try both muxman and ifoedit and from some strange reason they do not insert the subtitles into the video file. everything works fine with no errors but it would not work. the last app you wrote there costs money and i would like to use freeware if i can.

In what way doesn't Muxman/ifoEdit work? have you turned on the subtitles when you play back?
DVDAuthorGUI is as freeware as they come=completely.

Make sure you selected 'full install' when installing DVDAuthorGUI. At the very least, select the 'activex components'.
