My blog entry says it all:

    .----
    | I couldn't be happier with the results, however, SUPER does seem to
    | have at least 4 problems, as you can see from this video.
    |
    | - http://slated.org/files/super.mpg
    |
    | * There seems to be a strange problem with the drop-down menus not
    | drawing properly. You have to minimise then maximise the main window
    | each time you want to select a drop down menu. This is a major bug.
    | * If the "3gp" option is already selected, then in order to de-select
    | it you need to select the 3gp output container format first. A minor
    | quibble, but nonetheless very annoying.
    | * The program crashes with a JavaScript error, once you start adding
    | files. However, there is a fix, as you'll see next.
    | * Why the hell is this application using JavaScript? Using the JS
    | debugger, I discovered that it is trying to run the following script:
    |
    | http://updat.free.fr/fever00.js
    |
    | This script contains a lot of very cryptic code in it, and frankly
    | looks extremely suspicious. The fact that it crashes the program
    | doesn't help either, of course. I have no idea if this is some kind
    | of tracking script, or maybe something to do with advertising
    | sponsors, but whatever it is, I really don't like it, much less trust
    | it, so I simply blocked all network access by SUPER with my firewall.
    | This not only put my mind at ease with regards to a possible breach
    | of my security, but also prevented the application from crashing. I'd
    | still like some hard answers about what that script is though, and
    | why the hell it is being used at all.

SUPER has a forum at http://www.erightsoft.com/Supforum.html . You might get better answers to your questions there.

The problem with the menus MAY have to do with the 'stay on top' setting. Unchecking it may help (it's supposed to be the solution if you're having a problem with the dropdowns actually not displaying anything when you select them). As for accessing the javascript, I don't know. SUPER does do a check for new versions every time you start it (why you can't just have an option to run a check when you want instead of every time you start, I don't know), and a recent post on their forum said the net accessing is necessary for streaming video functions (playback, saving, etc.). Blocking whatever SUPER's doing in your firewall will disable the automatic version checking and the streaming video features, according to the post.

Aside from that, there doesn't seem to be anything else affected, as far as I've seen from those who have blocked it.

I cannot sign up on that forum When i click the register button after the info it just goes dead.
If i reload or refresh it comes back to the main page.
I wanted to know how to do a 3 pass x.264 encoding in super.
I wanted to use the advanced option like exhuastive search and highest options and trellix enabled.
Cannot find the configuration panel in super.
If i find that then i will never go for another video encoder ever again.
    Super will be perfect then.
