Is Popcorn 2 compression any better than Toast 7?
    Is DVD2onex still the best?
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a good camera is worth about a thousand bucks.

Toast 7 incorporates Popcorn. They're identical.

Some folk swear by DTOX. Others swear at it. I only
used it once, on a movie with lots of zero-length cells.

I also use DVD2oneX 2.0.5. It is the best thing for a lot of the new releases like albloom said. It has faster compression than Toast. I think it has better options when it comes to compression.

Popcorn 2 has some features lacking in Toast 7. Toast 7 has all the features of Popcorn 1.

Popcorn 2 lets you select which video title and audio stream to use whereas Toast automatically selects only the "main" movie and audio track 1. Popcorn 2 has a preview movie window to help you choose the title you want. The preview window also has a frame snapshot tool. Toast has no preview for MPEG encoded video. Popcorn can export directly from a VIDEO_TS folder to other video formats whereas Toast first requires the extraction of the MPEG video using its Media Browser before the video can be exported to a different format.

The quality of requantized or exported video is identical with either application.

I've never used DVD2oneX so can't compare it.
