  1. I have used VirtualDubMod to extract audio from a movie because of low audio increased it using goldwave but now I have added it back and want to save as .avi in VDM it wont let me save as direct stream copy under video and if I use fast recompress it takes ages is there any other program which will let me add audio back

what exactly does it say if you use direct stream copy?
what is your source? virtualdubmod can't use direct stream copy for mpg/mpeg2 video.

mpg with wav audio wont work with tmpgenc. but what is your goal? make a dvd?

you can make a vob file with muxman if you first demultiplex the mpeg to video and audio using tmpgenc mpeg tools.

  9. I am a bit confused my audio is already had volume increased and is seperate now from movie I dont know what you mean by demultiplex the mpeg to video and audio using mpeg tools as i have already increased volume on my audio will i have to do this again then

  10. He means for you to separate the audio and video from the original MPEG, and then take the original video (M2V, I guess) and your new louder audio and mux with whatever.

  11. yes but the new louder audio is not on movie its seperate and in .wav format not the format what tmpenc would accept unless it do accept .wav file so there-fore then i can use tmpenc to add louder audio back which I still dont know how to do in tmpenc

Use ffmpeggui to convert the wav to .mp2 (mpeg-1 layer 2), and tmpgenc should let you mux it back in.
