  1. I tried my first 3 DVD rips to SVCD. I'm getting great looking video, however, my sound starts out OK but progressively slips out of sync as the movie plays. It's as much as 3 seconds off by 10 minutes into the movie. The video is ahead of the sound. Any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm using:

    SmartRipper 2.41
    DVD2AVI 1.84
    TMPGnc 2.02
    Nero 5564

    Thanks,
    GerryMan

  2. What type of source are you converting? Divx? QT? DVD? AVI? What is the source's framerate?

What is the framerate of your encoded mpeg?

Does it sync on your computer? What dvd player are you using?

    Are you using VBR?

  3. I've yet to perform any dvd rips myself, but Pinoy2201's guide in the dvd rip section at left includes a method of encoding the audio separately from the video (which is similar to the method you describe, but just using additional audio software). It sounds like this will produce better quality audio and maybe solve your problem.

  4. After the DVD2AVI stage check that the AVI (or D2V or AVS) file and the WAV file are the same length (in time of course). VDub and winamp will show the info required.
If not then of course the a/v will be out of synch.
If they are different then try reripping with another DVD ripper.
