While checking my burned DVD's for editing errors I noticed the playback stop at a certain point. Thinking it was the cheapo memorex, I burnt another one and it stopped at the very same point. I then burnt it on a top of the line disc and it was fine. So question is, what would make it stop and then continue to play. It did not happen on the PC only the dvd player. I burned them at 8, 4 and 2 to check memory. A mystry. Edited on Premier 6.5 then to DVDLab to Imagburn.

Your tests and my finely tuned deductive reasoning tells me that the problem is directly attributable to cheapo memorex disks.

Still problems. Burnt on Yudan discs at slowest speed possible. They pause at same spot twice but not the 3rd. I have two short films on one disc authored in dvdLab. No labels. Created in Premeire 6.5 no skipping until on disc. Sometimes only pauses once at one spot. The people buying them are reporting same. Stop skiping after 2nd or third play.

DVD-Lab is (or at least was, seen nothing to the contrary) not 100% compliant, so it's expected that some players will barf on the discs.

That is one of many possibilities.

I think it does have something to do with DVD-Lab. I've done this today. Opened up the original .dal, and re-compiled the version of what was stalling into new and different folder, reburnt them and everything was fine. I think the ones that were stalling are the ones that were in old memory, saved in one dal file but changed in the hard drive file. Or was that the other way around?@!? Deffinitely a DVD-Lab thing. Bums me out that I had to contact buyers to find out if it might be one of theirs that had a stall in it.

But Memorex is still notorious for crappy discs

The only reason I was using memorex was to get rid of them. sample burns. Yudan is not crappy. And I have not had any problem as of yet since I started doubling up on the folders.
