Using DVDShrink I archived a DVD. Now after many plays, the disk cracked and I'm trying to burn a replacement. I generated an .iso using Imgtool and tried to burn it back onto a Double Layer DVD+R Using Nero. I get the message that it's the wrong disk type, that I need a -R. I can't find any DL -R's around here and mail order they only come in 3 packs.

Is there any way to change what I've got to be able to burn back onto DL +R's

    Thanks.

Or even just open the files in ImgBurn v2 in "Build" mode (no iso, one step).

Will either/both work from the Video TS folders files since the orginal disk is FUBAR'd

If the original is damaged then no....crap in - crap out.
Most people here are responding to the fact that:
    1) It shouldn't matter about +r to -r or vise versa.
    2) DVDShrink is not the best or most efficient way to do a straight copy of an already un-encrypted DVD since it lacks a built-in burning engine like DVDDecrypter.

    ap.sand,

Yes, ImgBurn in "Build" mode works directly from the VIDEO_TS folder. Just use Windows Explorer (or My Computer) to copy the directories (VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS) from the cracked backup to an empty directory on your hard drive, then use ImgBurn (in "Build" mode) to write the directories to a new dvd blank.

This guide will help you with the ImgBurn "Build" mode process, in a convenient step by step tutorial.

Tried it last night. It gave a error about "reached the end of user area" as it was writting the lead out. With a quick look this morning, the disk seems to work anyway. We'll watch it this weekend to see if it was fully successful.

Thanks again for all the help, you guys are great!
