Hi
I have a Hauppauge WinTV card, and last week all was well and good, I normal play a video that is recorded from Sky in though the VCR connected the computer. Then in real time capture in DivX (910,Kbits per sec key frame 10Secs) at 25Frame per sec, 320 x 288 (Or some thing like that) and the CPU runs about 50% with no problems Using virtual Dub 1.4d.
Think the last film I recorded was 1.5hours long and dropped one frame. (Three days ago)
However last night, started to capture StarTrek Voyager (Same settings) and after 5 seconds I had dropped 65 frames. (Not the best)
Only 20% usage and the Hard disk light hardly on.
I have not installed any new hardware or software in the last three days
plus have formated the hard disk and started again with only the stuff for capture installed.
Anybody out there had any thing like this.
I have a 1Ghz P111, 256MB Ram, 7200RPM Hard Disk (Defraged), Sound Blaster 5.1 Live, and a Voodoo3.
Paul
P.S. I have also tried the WinTv capture stuff and tried to capture memory as it should be faster, (Incase it was a disk problem) again same problems.
Any help would be great, only thing I can think is Faulty Card

what about other sources or videos? Do you get the same problems now with videos that worked before? I sometimes have problems with videos I borrow from friends. I can only capture them using a vertcal res of 240 or it dropps 50%+ of frames
