Must have spent like an hour trying to figure this out. Some app makes user feel so dumb, if the author is reading this. It's a very simple task!

    TIA

DLP doesn't have any simple adjustment tools to change photos or images on menus. It does have the fx processing, some of which will certainly darken an image, but probably not in the way you want.

But more detail in your question will get you a more detailed answer.

Ooops. Menu's background. Using a DLP's provided wallpaper.

I was able to use the transparency slider once to do this but now am not able to replicate it(?).

Menu backgrounds can't be adjusted this way, however if you drop an other image onto the menu WITHOUT holding down the shift key, you can adjust the transparency. Backgrounds from the Backgrounds folder automatically become menu backgrounds when dragged onto the menu layout.

However there is a work around. If you draw a vector box over the entire background, then change it's colour to black, you can adjust the transparency of the box until you are happy with your background, then flatten it to be part of the background image.

    Jikes! Pass.

I exported wallpaper, "fix" it in photoshop, re-imported it. Keeping things simple.

Keeping a foot pole from the layering stuff for now.

The layer option is two mouse clicks and much faster if you really need to do it.

Already had menu all built-up with buttons exactly where I want them. Didn't see an obvious way to flatten wo affecting the buttons. Again, maybe when I have time to become more comfortable with the layering stuff.
